Established by Freightliner LLC in 1995, FCCC has experienced significant growth and today is a leading chassis producer for a variety of industries. Nearly two-thirds of all walk-in diesel van chassis sold today are made by FCCC, making it the world's largest manufacturer of diesel walk-in van chassis. The company also holds more than half the market in Type A diesel motor home chassis, and more than a quarter of the market in conventional school bus chassis.
FCCC custom-built chassis keep delivery vans large and small on the road and working. FCCC makes light-duty chassis for use in the snack food, vending and baking industries; medium-duty chassis for parcel delivery and industrial linen service; and heavy-duty chassis for applications such as newspaper delivery, utility repair and emergency response vehicles.
In the motor home chassis category, FCCC is the chassis of choice for some of the world's best-known motor home brands. Motor home manufacturers choose Freightliner chassis because of their exceptional ride and handling characteristics, tight turning radius and dependable diesel engines that last longer and require less maintenance than gasoline engines.
For the bus market, FCCC supplies the chassis used by Thomas Built Buses, another Daimler Trucks North America LLC brand, as well as number of other customers in the commercial bus market for use as mass transit, tour and charter buses.
In partnership with Freightliner, FCCC offers an extensive network of service locations across the country. More than 350 Freightliner dealers in the U.S. and Canada provide sales and service, including 50 dealers in the Freightliner Oasis Network that cater to motor home owners.
Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation is based in Gaffney, S.C., where it employs more than 900 people at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
