In 1988, Jon Tubbs joined Freightliner Corporation in the Special Vehicle design group in Custom Engineering as a Specification Writer. After working 3 years in Custom Engineering as a spec writer, he moved to the Product Engineering Pneumatics/Brake group where he worked for five years on new and current truck designs including the Century Class, FLB COE and FLD brake systems. In 1996, he moved to the Engineering Planning and Operations group to be a Project Planning Engineer responsible for reporting the progress of many major projects to Freightliner Management. In 1997, he became the Lead Engineer for the Ford Cargo project and its introduction as both a Freightliner and Sterling product. Jon is currently the Manager of Engineering Design for the Special Vehicle Design in Chassis Engineering group which supports the Military product.
