In 1997 Rick Engel joined Freightliner Corporation as the Director for Government Vehicle Sales. Prior to that, Rick completed almost 27 years of service with the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel. He was a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and his assignments included Commander of the Detroit Arsenal Tank Plant, Program Manager for Ground Combat Vehicle Survivability Systems, and Assistant to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition Reform. Rick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master's degree in management from Central Michigan University.
