Celebrating 100 Years of Passionate Innovation with Thomas Built Buses

Daimler Trucks North America is proud to congratulate Thomas Built Buses on its 100-year anniversary in 2016. Committed to perpetual innovation while prioritizing customer, driver and passenger experience, TBB remains poised to deliver safety and peace of mind.

At the core of North-American public transportation for a century and well-known in the school-bus sector, TBB began as a humble streetcar vendor in High Point, North Carolina, where its buses are still manufactured. One in three school buses on the road today are Thomas Built. While adding cleaner fuel options like compressed natural gas and propane to its diesel fleet, lessening environmental impact is an integral R&D consideration.

Along with a future-focused commitment to extend its legacy of quality and innovation, TBB’s sustainability initiatives include Clean-Drive Technologies and a zero-waste-to-landfill operation. Ongoing technical research and development dedicated to continual improvements reinforce a core belief in maintaining a spirit of customer care that encompasses TBB’s proud and passionate heritage built on a legacy of innovation and safety.
