Hydraulic Hybrid

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation has also developed a hydraulic hybrid chassis for the walk-in van market.

 

Designed to meet productivity needs while delivering more profit, the HHV chassis is built on the MT-55 platform and has shown a 50 to 70 percent improvement in fuel economy over traditionally powered vehicles. An advanced engine-off strategy stores hydraulic energy to power the vehicle without the engine resulting in quieter operation, reduced engine wear and no emissions or fuel consumption during this stage of operation. Plus, regenerative braking charges the hydraulic system and reduces brake wear.
